Welcome
Lava-rox…
Once upon a time, a young man picked up a guitar and
changed the world.
In 1939 while in junior high school, Chuck Berry played his first gig.
His classmates were impressed with the new bluesy sound. He
immediately began learning all he could about the guitar.
In 1955 while on the road in Chicago, he met Muddy Waters who
recommended he visit Chess studios. There he recorded his first
hit “Maybellene”, which went on to sell a million copies and
reached number one on Billboard magazine’s rhythm and blues
chart.
Chuck Berry influenced countless numbers of young musicians
including The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, The Beach Boys, Elvis,
Eric Clapton, Bob Dylan, Rod Stewart, and so many more. The
music world was never the same.
Another Music Pioneer
Les Paul invented the first solid body electric guitar in 1941
and a new sound was born. Paul also developed the multi-
track recorder with which he overdubbed as many as eight
different tracks into a single recording. This became the
foundation for all future recorded popular music.
